Diploma - Winning Project
Châteauvallon carries the culture of utopia in its history. The dynamics of the living arts, the freedom, the social commitment and the cohesion have been the forces of this scene that has always embodied the avant-garde. Today, it appears isolated on its hill. But it has the potential to gather again.
According to Boris Cyrunik, utopia begins in the imagination of those who dream it. We dream of a connection to the land, to plants and to animals. We dream of sensing the poetry of the living beings around us. We suggest to experience this dream, a shared utopia, by creating a scenography in Châteauvallon that interacts with its natural life.
This project was done in pair with Gala Espel.
From the stage to the forest, the public is plunged into the quiet activity of Châteauvallon's ecosystem. On white veils tensed between the trees, a spectacle of shadows turns nature into the main character. Vivants highlights the role that design can play in our perception of the environment. A furniture is imagined for a nomadic use in the scenography.
